Under the name of LA PLAGA N11, six young people come together with an excellent musical background and with the background of having been part of bands such as Ojo de Buen Cubero, Los Barrankillos, Esmeralda Collete, Cronopios or Potoma. Together they defend a great proposal, of a mix of pop-rock adding rhythms of swing or folk to the recipe.
La Plaga N11 is shameless elegance, attitude, energy and awareness in the face of everything that happens in our world. A different musical proposal, daring, fresh and full of oxygen in the current landscape.
They also stand out for an unusual line-up of drums, electric double bass, piano, two guitars and vocals. But it seems that the recipe has worked very well for them because with their first single “El rostre del vent” they have managed to get directly into radios as important and different as Icat, Cadena Dial and Radiolé. In fact, since its launch, La Plaga n11 has been entering the official list of the most popular songs on Catalan radio week after week, Icat made them the song of the week and some important songs that cannot yet be made public. All this just beginning.
Their single “El rostre del vent” serves as a metaphor for them to vindicate something as abstract and desired as freedom: “jo vull ser com el rostre del vent que passa per la frontera sense cap preocupació”. A message that takes a poetic form, but that drinks from a conscious and vindictive background. This is La Plaga N11 vindictive poetry.
In the video they also make clear their position on the most current social issues as it stars a whole range of women, chosen with an intersectional and inclusive perspective.
If all this were not enough, the band also has the production of Carlos Manzanares, producer of artists such as El Kanka, Arnau Griso, El Niño de la Hipoteca and Suu.
And if only one thing of the band were to stand out, it would certainly be their live performance. A forceful and captivating live.
